Although long travel times and costly airfare can hinder some people from visiting Australia and the Pacific region, there are some places in Australia to visit when you retire that should not be missed!   1. Great Barrier Reef

As one of the world’s Seven Natural Wonder, the Great Barrier Reef is a lovely spot on the bucket list of every traveler. The reef extends from Bundaberg in the south all the way to Cape York in the north— a total of 1250 miles. With roughly 600 islands, 1,630 species of fish and 3,500 coral reefs, 1.5 million visitors are left enchanted by the reef every year. The reef provides some of the best marine life attractions in the world.

Trousers Point is the most celebrated and most photographed place on the West Coast of Flinders Island with a mountain that rises from the ocean, wide spans of white sand and crystal clear waters. Granite rocks protrude through Trousers Point’s shallow sandy soils and along its coastline.
